Little Bay Missions
School Breakfast Program:
This project is geared to providing nutritious breakfast for the less fortunate, school children.
As one born in the area and had a very meager breakfast as I set off to school walking 10 miles daily to and from school.
I was particularly moved by this project when brought to my attention.
I recall feeling hungry even before school began and found it difficult to learn.
I know that to promote learning and alertness, a healthy breakfast is very necessary for a child to thrive not only in school but life in general.
I am thankful to God that when I showed up at the local school in January and learned that the breakfast program was placed on hold because of lack of funding. I was able to provide funding received from my local church in Canada to the school principal and vice principal.
When I made the presentation to the principal and vice principal, there was an air of excitement in the room, knowing that the program would be reinstated.
he long term goal of this program is to support the school that is in the process of growing food and raising chickens so eventually the school Breakfast program would become self sustained.
Although the program didn’t get started until January 20,2025, it was in the planning stage in 2024.
It has now been in operation for the first quarter of 2025 and by God’s grace will continue.
I would like to thank Devxchange for their help and support in getting going.
I would also like to thank the brothers and sisters from my local church in Midland On, others in and around the communities of Canada for their generosity and kindness.
A second project “A Soup Kitchen”, was also started in January 2025.
This project is geared at supporting the elderly, immobile and walk-in’s.
A third program that is in the infancy stage of planning is a food bank.
This will be geared at supplying food to those unable to support themselves and or their families.
