You might be thinking right away: why even talk about mindset in the first place? I’m the happiest person on the planet, what could you possibly tell me that I haven’t already heard about positive mindset? 

While feeling happy and positive is certainly a great step to successful fundraising, it isn’t quite what I wanted to talk about today. 

Being a project leader with Devxchange is extremely fulfilling and rewarding but there is no denying it is a lot of work to raise the money your project needs. This is where most people tend to run into problems with the mindset of fundraising VS their normal life. Being a fundraiser is very different than working for your typical business. 

We are not selling a product, we are selling a solution when we raise money.

We are asking Canadians to trust and support our projects in a far off place they have never heard of, been to, or even know anyone from the project. 

And the truth is, this is where many people fail at fundraising, they simply never try fundraising period. Most people are convinced they can’t fundraise well. Some people have fear or anxiety when it comes to asking for support. Some people feel ashamed being a successful fundraiser, and some have a “poverty mentality” for their project, that it needs to struggle to ask for support and that a donor wouldn’t give if they appeared too successful. Some people even view fundraising as begging for money. 

Let’s face it, fundraising can be scary!

I’m here to change all of that and help you view fundraising in a whole new light.
