Burundi Education Project

Burundi Education Project

From January to November 2022, students went back to school in Uganda. There were 81 students in total, 58 in elementary school and 23 in kindergarten.

In Nakivale Refugee Camp, many kids stay home for lack of funds.

These last three years, Covid made things worse.  Once things went back to normal, Burundi Education Project decided to hire a teacher to teach a multi-level classroom of 23 children aged 6 to 9 years.

The teacher did a very good job since 8 of the students passed Grade one test to advance to Grade 2. Eleven students moved up to Grade one. Four others left for various reasons.

To all students Burundi Education Project provided breakfast and lunch every day of the school year. Tuition fees and uniforms were also paid for.
