Projects in Kenya 2024

With the closure of Rainbow House in late 2023, 2024 became a year of deep focus and renewed purpose: education. Heart of Ruth Mission proudly sponsored 12 incredible students in their academic journeys — 5 in college, 3 in university, 3 in high school, and 1 in elementary school. These young minds traveled back and forth between school and home during holidays, each step a testament to resilience, hope, and the transformative power of education.

This year, we celebrated a profound milestone — our very first student, Emmanuel Mwatore, graduated with a Bachelor of Education and Arts. Emmanuel has been with us since the beginning, joining our Sponsorship Program in 2012. We have watched him grow from a young boy with potential into a compassionate, educated man ready to give back to his community. His success is a shining example of what your support makes possible.

Every one of our students is a story of hope — a future that would not be possible without you. As a small nonprofit, we know that none of this could happen without our generous donors. You are not just funding tuition; you are changing lives, breaking cycles of poverty, and building a brighter future for Kenya’s orphaned children.

In the year 2023 we had 3 grade 12 students who wrote their last national exams — Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and all of them passed with good grades which have enabled them to join Kenyan university at Government sponsored rate of fee. In Kenya if you don’t meet the cut off marks required by the government, you only have an option of parallel option which requires higher cost of school fee. This was good news as it has reduced our budget as well as the students will be privileged to join the university and study courses of their choices to change their lives in future. Belise joined Jaramogi university to pursue civil engineering, Arivitsa joined Technical university of Kenya to pursue civil engineering-real estate, and Brenda pursuing actuarial science at Moi university.
