Reverse Migration
This project aims to reverse this migration trend by shifting the flow of support back to the Philippines by strengthening the economic sustainability of women and girls in rural areas so they do not need to leave their country by creating sustainable eco-tourism sites.
It has been a challenging year because of COVID restrictions all over the world. Some of the initiatives continued despite the challenges. Somehow, the goats are growing, the chickens are still hatching their eggs and growing their families in the pristine mountain range. An example of resiliency and perseverance are the women in the Aetas communities manage to continue to thrive and have continued to focus on their cultural traditions and increase the numbers of animals under their care despite the annual typhoons, pandemics and usual drought. The fishpond is going to be fully developed this year and further micro-financing enterprises will be developed to combat the COVID restrictions measures all across every land and territory.
