Poori Gulasekharam
Quote from Poori:
“Greetings to you all,
Looking back thru Memory Lane for the year 2023, I am thankful for the opportunities to share in the different ways the LORD has used me as an instrument to serve HIM in fullness and joy!
Thanking each one of you for your prayers, encouragement, love and support which helped me to trust day to day in the LORD’S footsteps to win my goal for JESUS.
I am thankful to my beloved Sis Vijeya and husband Behruz who have helped with taking responsibility to help me.”
Summary of ministry in Sri Lanka:
Poori has continued to face challenges of uncertain times in Sri Lanka and pressed through with ongoing ministry. Main areas of ministry has been ongoing with the ministry at LEADS and the ministry with Boys Industrial Home (BIH) on a roughly biweekly basis. In both areas, she continues to use her gifting in areas of art and craft to connect with those in need to bring healing.
LEADS which is a ministry to the children who have been previously abused continues to invite her to help them with helping with ‘art therapy’. She continues to enjoy ministering to the children and travels quite a far distance up and down with different modes of transport each way. (Pictures are generally not allowed.)
BIH: Is a home for about 24 boys who are orphans. She has been invited to work with them on Saturdays for about every 2 weeks. She works with the junior boys and senior boys as 2 different groups.
Poori continues to be involved with the church outreach programs to the needy and the vulnerable. Towards the end of the year 2023, Poori was invited to work with Seniors at Rani Violet Home (connected with her home church in Sri Lanka) once a month with art and craft as a recreation and therapy for the seniors in the home. She currently visits the home once a month and works with the seniors who are interested to join.
She also continues to be involved with praying with mothers who need to chat and pray.
With the help of Saro and Hiruni who live with her and help take care of her as well as help her, she has also been able to keep the home for hospitality to the ‘outstation’ contacts when they go to Colombo.
Her health has been more improved in the year 2023 when compared to the year 2022.
Thank you for your help, encouragement and support.
